"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything."

~ Plato

Why is classical music good?

In the past I didn't like classical music. It went on my nerves. Or it was simply dull. Then, after several years of working on myself and raising my vibration, I started to enjoy it (not all of it but a great deal). There is this grandeur, this purity, this joy for life, emanating from classical compositions. You can feel being virtually lifted up and carried on a wave of light. It gives you hope, it motivates you to strive for the stars, to love more innocently, to be a better person. And it makes your chakras spin in the right direction and send energy upwards, from the base towards the crown.

Classical music is said to be the music of the spheres - spheres of God's creation, spheres of our true being. Those spheres are vibrational patterns that reflect love, beauty, peace and harmony of God's Being. They are the electronic pattern of our spirit, the blueprint of God manifested in the world of form.

We know that sound was instrumental in the creation of the universe:

"God used the power of sound to create a universe of about 150 billion galaxies.

'In the beginning was the Word' (John 1:1), and by the Word spoken, by mighty fiats spoken like 'Let there by light' (Genesis 1:3), God created the universe.

By sound the worlds were framed. God didn't silently think the universe into existence. He used the power of the spoken Word and its sound vibration."

~ excerpt from "Two spiritual tools for balancing karma, purification and ascension"

Indeed, scientific experiments show that sound creates shapes. And if it can influence dense materials like water and sand, imagine how big influence it has on the shape of our thoughts and feelings. Sound has power - both to create and to destroy. Beautiful music, used together with psychological and spiritual insight, can literally re-shape our sphere of consciousness. It can help us create ourselves in the image and likeness of God.

It needs to be said that not all classical compositions are spiritually uplifting, in fact some can be quite disturbing, so we need to have discernment in that too. But in the classical genre there is a higher chance that we will find beneficial music.

Music that "rocks" your chakras

There is a lot of music nowadays that can stir strong emotions, and you can feel pleasure, relief or a certain rush while listening to it, but it doesn't offer long-term solution to your problems - it doesn't offer you healing. It creates a ceiling in your consciousness and if you listen to only that kind of music, you cannot break through that ceiling and see the "light of day". You cannot connect to your Higher Self or the spheres of God.

Additionally, such music can drive the light out of your chakras and down towards the Earth - opposite to what is healing for your body and soul. It can feel pleasurable, but what causes pleasure is actually the light streaming through the chakras. However, the direction of that streaming is important. If after listening to the music you feel exhausted and drained, it most probably drew your light out of the chakras and down. If you feel energetic and envigorated, it means that the light was streaming in the right direction - in and up.

So we can say there are two types of pleasure, the one that is good for you and the one that is bad for you. One is higher, the other is lower. Strong rock beat can give you pleasure, but it usually leaves you empty and exhausted, and far from your true self. Classical master pieces also give you pleasure, but a different kind - the pleasure of being one with your Higher Self, one with God. But you need to first open yourself to God and remove the biggest blocks in your energy body and your consciousness in order to be able to feel it.

Higher types of music and their perversions

Sound and rhythm are for the attunement of the chakras so they can be instruments for the Harmony of God. The wrong sounds and rhythms prevent that attunement and harmony. The following are seven forms of music and the seven chakras that they negatively affect (source):

  • jazz is a perversion of the crown chakra;
  • computer music is a perversion of the third eye chakra;
  • rock 'n' roll is a perversion of the throat chakra;
  • jazz waltz is a perversion of the heart chakra;
  • blues is a perversion of the solar plexus chakra;
  • "soul" music is a perversion of the seat of the soul chakra;
  • voodoo is a perversion of the base of the spine chakra.

    Jazz is an adaptation of the voodoo beat, and rock 'n' roll has its roots in voodoo.

Impact of music on the subconscious mind

Let us also not forget the impact of repetition on the subconscious mind. If we hear a song enough times, it will stick in our head, as if imprinted. Because the subconscious mind is like a computer - it is programmed through repetition, even if we consciously don't like what we hear. Whenever we go to shops or cafes or other public places with strong background music, our subconscious mind gets programmed. So it's good to be aware of what we are exposed to.

If, on the other hand, we spend some time every day immersing ourselves in spiritually uplifting music, we will notice it stays in our subconscious and sends a positive message to our conscious mind. It will serve as a natural mood booster, preventing the negativity and low vibration of the collective consciousness to enter our field.

As a final note

Music has power. Sound has power. Words have power. These are the means through which we create our physical reality. It is said that civilizations fell because of wrong kind of music. Because music we listen to often reflects our state of consciousness. And our willingness to tune into the song of God, the song of our true being.

_____________

1 Keep listening at least until the half, because that's when the famous hymn Land of Hope and Glory begins:

"Land of Hope and Glory,
Mother of the Free,
How shall we extol thee,
Who are born of thee?
Wider still and wider
Shall thy bounds be set;
God, who made thee mighty,
Make thee mightier yet
God, who made thee mighty,
Make thee mightier yet.
"

2 Listen to the end because there is some great singing in the second part!

3 "Yemaya Assessu, Assessu Yemaya, Yemaya Olodo, Olodo Yemaya"

A celebration of the moment when the river meets the ocean. Yemaya is the goddess of the ocean and the mother of all goddesses. (Yoruba tribe, Africa)

For those who find classical music disturbing or boring, here is a funny story:

Once upon a time in a deep valley, the cuckoo and the nightingale, between them made a wager, which of them could sing the finer song. Whomsoever skill or fortune favoured, he should have the mastery. The cuckoo said, "If it please you, I have already chosen the judge." And he straightway named the donkey!

"For", said he, "he has two big ears, all the better to mark what is bad, and tell it apart from what is good." They flew away to the judge, and told him how the matter stood. He commanded them to sing. And the nightingale sang so sweetly.

The donkey spoke: "This is too intricate for me. Hee-haw, I cannot grasp it at all."

Then quickly the cuckoo began his song through thirds and fourths and fifths.

It pleased the ass. He just said, "Wait while I pronounce my verdict. Nightingale, you have sung well; but you, cuckoo, have sung a fine chorale and you keep the strictest measure. I speak from the height of a great intellect and though it should cost me a whole country I judge you to be the winner. Cuckoo, cuckoo, hee-haw."

From "Des Knaben Wunderhorn", German folk poetry
