Whom do we serve?

"They come with their laws and their codes to bind me fast; but I
evade them ever, for I am only waiting for love to give myself up
at last into his hands."

~ Rabindranath Tagore, "Gitanjali"

Why did Lucifer rebel?

Many spiritual teachers will tell you that the ultimate reason of our existence is to serve - to serve the Light in us, and to serve the Light in others. The story goes that Lucifer, who was a high-rank angel in Heaven, fell because he didn't want to serve the young souls - spirit sparks - who came to the material realm to realize their God potential and become co-creators with God. Unlike these young souls, Lucifer and other angels had high spiritual attainment to begin with, so they didn't have much to learn, but their task was to serve as teachers and helpers to the developing souls.

Lucifer didn't approve of the fact that God gave the young souls free will. "They are immature and unaware, they are not able to manage the Earth, they are going to destroy it. You shouldn't give them free will, God, because they are going to mess it up. Let us run the universe for them, let us make sure they don't get off the track."

But little did Lucifer know that only by serving the smaller than himself - smaller in spiritual attainment - can he rise in the cosmic hierarchy, and come closer to God. And so he rebelled against God. He thought he knew better than God. He was afraid that these young souls, who had so little spiritual awareness, would destroy the perfect system, which he thought universe was before the new souls were created. Lucifer was afraid to lose control, he couldn't allow the "inferior ones" to take control over the universe. And so he rebelled against God and his plan, believing that he is actually saving God from himself.

He saw himself separated, even opposite, to God's will. In such a state of mind he couldn't see the reality of God any more. Because the reality of God is oneness of all life. And because Heaven is a place - a state of consciousness - where all souls acknowledge oneness with God and all life, he couldn't stay there any more. Not because he was driven out of it, but because he couldn't see it any more. He became blind to the reality of God. So he automatically fell from the high vibrations of Heaven. And was given another chance on Earth.

Pride and elitism today

Today we see a lot of reasoning similar to that of Lucifer - pride, elitism (e.g. certain groups considering themselves better than the others), general mistrust in people's qualities. "They are inferior and we need to show them how to run their lives." There is also the ill reasoning that Earth would be better off without people. "Earth, a perfect pristine system, doesn't need humans because they will destroy it. In fact, they already destroyed it" – claim the greenest ones, those who advocate zero development paradigm.

But we need to differentiate between improper behavior (e.g. polluting the atmosphere) and claiming that human race as such is no good and only causes harm. If you don't see the full picture, you can do wrong things, out of ignorance, but it doesn't mean that you don't have the potential to turn around and come up higher. We have this inner core which is GOOD, which is GOD. And it is our task to recognize it, identify with it and start living from it. It is our task to identify with the Good/God in us.

True, there are those who think we don't have that potential, and we shouldn't be given powers that God gave us. They think we are not capable of managing our lives or the Earth. We should be told what to do. We are the followers, they are the leaders. As long as we don't ask tricky questions, as long as we don't demand our God-given rights, everything is fine.

The Matrix

They have invented all sorts of deception mechanisms to keep us lulled in our ignorance and maintain the status quo. Blunt TV shows, destructive music that drags our energy down, almost the entire entertainment and movie industry feeding us with visions of destruction and death, and keeping us locked in a distorted pattern that has nothing to do with the reality of God.

Remember the Matrix movie? Well, it was pretty close to the idea. We are asleep in our capsules while someone is feeding on our energy. In order not to realize it, we are immersed in a virtual reality, which is our everyday lives. We do our daily routine even if we don't always like it, because we believe that "that's how life is".

In our spare time - when we could start thinking about the meaning of life - we are bombarded with dreadful messages coming from our TV screens, trying to crush our faith that there is something better - something innocent, something pure, something divine in this world. We are made to believe that there is no God, or that he doesn't care about us. And we are given replacement gods to worship - money, material possessions, pleasures of the senses, perfection of the body and outer appearance.1 False values are being programmed into us, and if we are not careful enough, we soon find ourselves running after them. And after them only.

Doing so gives us the illusion that we are heading somewhere and making progress, while in fact we are just running faster on our treadmill. In all truth, we are standing in one place, just maybe producing more energy for those who are controlling the treadmill. We are not aware of it, because it is subtle. If we were physically in chains, we would know that we are not free. But like this, we think we are free to do what we want. But in fact, this freedom has a price - selling our soul for a few nickles and dimes.

Step off the treadmill - and take responsibility!

If we want to see a real change in our society, it is time to step off the treadmill. We need to recognize ourselves as spiritual beings, co-creators with God, and claim our divine rights. Ye are Gods, said Jesus. Indeed we have the potential to be like God, to co-create with God, to expand and deepen his creation.

But along with those rights, we also need to take responsibility for our lives. If we don't want to be ruled by someone else, we need to take command of ourselves and clear the obstacles standing in the way of God's power and abundance manifesting in our lives. We need to take the beam from our own eye - deal with the resistances of the ego. Because ultimately, we are not here to manifest a perfect society, but to grow in consciousness. If we come into consciousness of oneness with God, all the rest - including a physical heaven - will follow.

Power elite is not as mighty as we think

As you do the psychological work to empower yourself and take responsibility for your life, also consider the fact that the power elite is only a small percentage of the population (according to Ascended Masters' teachings, around 10%). There are not so many people in such a low (selfish) state of consciousness, not so many who would blatantly violate other people's free will. But they are in the positions of power (or pulling the strings behind the scenes), because we let them. 10 percent manipulating the 90 percent. And imposing their rules - the rules of a God-less world.

But they are not all-powerful as people think. There is no single unified elite - no single "shadow government" ruling the entire world, as claimed by many conspiracy theories. Power elite are in the consciousness of separation (from God and other people), so they cannot, by definition, be unified among themselves. Even if they could work together for a while to achieve a certain goal, sooner or later they would split because they pursue different, and selfish, agendas.

That's one reason why the world has not already been taken by the power elite completely. The other reason is that there is a positive influence of spiritually aware people, those who know that life is more than struggle for power and dominance, and more than pain and suffering. Throughout the ages there were people who were willing to question the doctrines and ideologies of the power elite. Who were willing to think outside the box. Who were longing for more of God in their lives. And so they took a stand for truth, they showed better solutions, they inspired others. And so there was a steady growth in consciousness.

Dare to trust

If you read this, you might be one of those people who know - who feel in their heart - that there is more to life. Maybe they call you a dreamer. But in fact, you are a realist - someone who sees the reality of God. Someone who doesn't settle for a world ruled by false gods and false values.

Many people - although they yearn for a better world - think they are powerless in the face of the power elite. But the truth is that we are powerless only if we feel separated from God. If we connect with the divine spark in us and embrace our true nature, we will have all power in Heaven and on Earth. Because "with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." We can conquer all obstacles - both personal and planetary - by becoming one with our God. By being who we are.

When the inner struggle ceases, the outer struggle will cease too. And we will be free - both from our own demons and the grip of the power elite.

Age of Aquarius is meant to be the age of freedom. But we cannot attain spiritual freedom - which is the basis for physical freedom - if we are bound by the chains of our own resistance.

We are more than we think. Life is more than it seems.

Dare to trust. Dare to Be.

1 The opposite extreme of the materialistic "god" is the false concept of God advocated by mainstream religion, where we are required to mold our behaviour and personality according to a certain standard of outer perfection, thinking that by following outer rules and rituals we will be saved. Similar tendency can be noticed in some spiritual movements too. God of material pleasures and god of puritanism/asceticism are two branches of the same tree - the tree of the relative good and evil - the same tree from which Adam and Eve ate in the Garden of Eden.
